Meeting Overview and Membership Introduction of AD's Redesigning your GCRC to meet a changing environment DeCarlos Wright , facilitator, University of Alabama at Birmingham AD Toni Long, presenter, University of Washington AD Monica Thompson, presenter, University of New Mexico AD Pressure is intense for GCRCs, CTSAs and Investigators (1) to increase efficiency and capacity to accomplish more in the future with the same or fewer resources than exist today and (2) to expand program focus to align with NIH's new vision of bench to bedside research with heavy emphasis on community involvement. Two GCRCs will describe how their programs are changing to meet these challenges through implementation of the " Toyota Lean Philosophy" and development of a community-based clinical research program.
